Immerse yourself in video

July 8th, 2008 by Fernando Pizarro

With more and more of us getting our news and information from Internet videos, better ways to track, search and display the content you want are a must.

You videophiles out there who have not downloaded PicLens by Cooliris are missing out on one of the most visually stunning, and useful, video management tools out there.

Before I get into some of the functionalities, let me just say this is one of the best looking applications I’ve seen in a long time.

The display — they call it the “3D Wall” — immerses you in thousands of videos and stills, allowing you to quickly scan through the results to find just what you want.

Once you download it and travel to a site that supports it — including mega sites YouTube, Flickr, Amazon, and others — PicLens automatically displays all the video and still images it finds on the site.

The “Discover” function also gives you access to the latest news, sports and entertainment videos.

If you are a heavy video and image user and you haven’t seen this product yet, I bet you’ll be impressed.
